How an engagement works.

These are not hidden contract surprises. This is how I work from the start so scope, access, response time, and responsibility stay clear.

01 —

Discovery Call

30 minutes. You describe the problem. I ask blunt questions. We determine if there's a fit.

02 —

SOW + Proposal

Scoped statement of work with clear deliverables, timeline, and pricing. You review and sign before anything starts.

03 —

Deposit & Kickoff

50% deposit for projects. First month for retainers. Signed contract. Calendar invite. Work begins.

04 —

Delivery

Work is done to spec. Documented. Handed off with one knowledge transfer session included.

05 —

Close or Continue

Project closes or converts to retainer. Ongoing clients get priority access and defined monthly support.

These aren't policies buried in a contract. They're how I operate — and they protect both of us.

One point of contact All clients designate a single POC. Multiple stakeholders require written alignment before we start.

Scope is scope Anything outside the SOW is a change order. No verbal add-ons. No "while you're in there" requests.

Scheduled calls only All calls booked via calendar link with 24hr minimum notice. Unscheduled calls won't be answered.

Net 7 invoices Invoices are due within 7 days. Work suspends at 14 days non-payment. 1.5%/mo late fee applies.

Access delays pause the clock If I'm waiting on credentials or access that was due 2 days ago, the project timeline adjusts. Not my hours.

Non-refundable deposits Deposits cover scoping and reserved time. They don't roll over or refund if a project is cancelled.

I configure. Vendors warrant. Bugs in Teams, Webex, or Cisco firmware are vendor issues. I'll help troubleshoot. I don't carry liability for platform behavior.

Right client fit matters I'll decline work outside my expertise rather than do it badly. If I'm not the right fit, I'll say so.

Advisory is not managed IT I do not replace helpdesk, NOC, monitoring, or general IT support unless that is explicitly scoped in writing.

Retainer hours do not roll over Monthly hours reserve access and availability. Unused time does not carry forward unless the SOW says otherwise.
